Kat Stratford & Moody Boho

I'd firstly like to say I hope everyone's had a very merry Christmas and these few days have been full of happiness and positivity for you all :) Okay, I'm basically pretty much rubbish at having enough time to blog. But it gives me a perfect New Year's Resolution to try and get a routine going on when I post! But I've decided I'd like to turn this into a fashion/photography blog, with a couple of beauty and lifestyle posts dotted here and there.

Now today's outfits (although very different) seem to share a rather dark palette; Eva sporting a very 90's, rebel 'Kat Stratford' inspired look, and me an ensemble that's although slightly sweeter,  has a moody aura.

I really love the long leather jacket in the first outift. It just brings back a really raw 90's look, popular among indie rock feminists, and with a simple crop top of darker colours such as burgundy or deep green to show off the abdominal region (a refusal to the social/school guidelines of no stomach, bra strap or too much leg on show?) Throw on some ripped, faded jeans and a pair of docs or boots to complete the piece.

For the second look I'm extremely proud to be modelling and sharing this tweed pleated skirt created by my very own best pal Eva Rogers! One of the main things I love about this skirt is the cut. How it falls just at the top of the knee; a length very in season along with the just-above-the-ankle skirts. The colour and material also fit beautifully with the great British countryside which is a bonus for me! For the top half I decided to go for a long sleeved velvet black top (this one was part of a leotard) or perhaps if you decide not to tuck the top into the skirt, wear a jumper that falls just over the top rim of the skirt, a style very in if you've seen the December and January vogue! To top off the boho look, I simply added a black hat (I don't generally tend to wear many hats except wintery knits, but I really enjoyed wearing it, especially with this outfit!) and a pair of black loafers with white socks to add a slight touch of brightness to the piece.

I hope this was a nice post for everyone and I'm really excited to do more of these on the future! A merry merry Christmas to everyone :)

Positively,

Glasses, white knits & Grandma skirts

I hope everyone has had a lovely start to the year and have high optimism for the days to come :)
Now although these photos were taken before New Year, due to festivities and dreaded science mocks I've been unable to post until now. I feel as though plant hormones, balancing equations, and hydrocarbons will be the pure death of me.
On a brighter note though here is a fresh fashion post straight from the field behind Eva's house. Enjoy...:)

Okay so once Eva has a hold of my glasses, I won't get them back for hours on end. But they make a lovely addition to this outfit of a creamy light brown duffel coat (have you heard brown is the new black?) with a simple light grey v-neck and jeans. What I love is how extremely simple this outfit is, but seems to always timelessly look good! With perhaps a pair of docs for a dash of indie or some chelsea boots to complete the effortless city chic look?

Now onto some pretty exciting stuff for me as I have seen this look appear in many magazines and although this skirt may be slightly shorter, it still has the desired effect. Funnily enough this was my Great Grandma Heather's skirt and I found this among a number of beauties that I now regularly wear. Along with a high-necked white knit (courtesy of my sister) I really love this outfit and feel that it perfectly fits in with this season's looks. Perhaps with a long sleeved crop or simple slim top tucked in would be nice to show off the waist line and top of the pleats in this skirt, but this look, although different, seems to work in my mind. For socks and shoes I decided to follow through with the black and white as I was also wearing white nail polish and it seemed appropriate to go for simple white ankle socks and black loafers.

I hope you liked this post and its accompanying photos and although I managed to get some winter wonderland shots on a family walk (perhaps my next post) I'm praying to the snow lords for more snow so that I can do a winter rendition of the autumn shoot with a bunch of lovely faces I can gladly call my friends :)

Autumn Shoot - Part 1

So this weekend I felt very inspired by the Jack Wills Autumn and Winter videos and I felt like I wanted to take some very typical catalogue photos so this Sunday that is what I did! I'm going to hopefully be going on more of these shoots in the upcoming weekends which will gradually become more autumnal which is extremely exciting because Autumn is my absolute favourite season! And as winter comes I will be doing some christmassy and festive shoots in this style because it was just so so much fun and some of these photos aren't posed we just went on a lovely walk and took some fun photos so I just really enjoyed it and I know my lovely models especially did too :)

P.S I haven't quite concreted editing yet, I'm still figuring it out and trying to get myself comfortable with it so none of these shots are edited but soon I'll be able to start editing and improving them!

My models

So I'm setting off to Portugal and I really wanted to get a post in before I went just in case there was no wifi! So today I'm going to be talking about my models. As I am definitely not a professional photographer yet I have to make the most out of my resources and luckily my group of friends are not only some of the most amazing beings in the world, they're extremely gorgeous too! So its absolutely perfect if we go on little walks or if we're at someones house to bring my camera and get a couple of shots. Fortunately they're also very willing to let me pose them or direct them and even if they're not in the mood I can always capture one of their natural moments without them even realising and the results are just as beautiful!

So this post is just for me to introduce them and give them the credit they deserve, as in alot of my photos you can almost guarantee it will be one of them.

Hello World!

Hello world!

For a long time I've been reading so many beauty, fashion, photography and even just general lifestyle blogs and I've finally decided to join in on the blogging universe. I will be posting little bits of everything on here from reviews on products, tips and tricks for beauty and health which I find helpful to my own little photography outings and useful little pointers in photography that I found interesting if maybe you ever wanted to give it a go :)

Nothing is yet decided but one thing I am certain on is that at the minute I'm not set on my main stream of posts. It will literally be bits and bobs of everything and although I've said a few of the categories above I will most certainly not be sticking strictly to them! So I apologise for the sketchiness and uncertainty but we might aswell give this a go :) So thank you if anyone ever reads these and I really hope I don't disappoint!

Positively,
